When buying or selling a trade good, look at this chart to determine how far you can possibly haggle a price.  As seen above, the condition of a planet's economy has absoluely no bearing on the price of specialty goods.  To use this table, and if you are buying Amusoballs, the best possible price you can reach is 50% of 1000, or 500.  When selling specialty goods, the best possible price would be 200% or 2000.

Selling a desired specialty good will affect the starting offer for that particular good, but does not seem to modify the final price the alien is willing to sell it for.

"Floating . . drifting . . we pass one another . . . we exchange items . . . . out of the darkness . . . into the darkness . . . . it is all the same . . . . do not be deceived by form . . . ."

HOMEWORLD: 184, 148 p3

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Metal Age
POPULATION DENSITY: Moderate
ECONOMY: Stable
TRADING STYLE: Bargain A Little

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: A race of very tall, slender, hairless bipeds. They spend the greater part of thier time in a waking dream state with the use of Dreamgrids made by the Arla.

WILL SELL: Field Stunner, Mip Fur
WILL BUY: Dreamgrids*, Data Crystals, Black Acid Squirter, Glowing Spinner, Grey Anemone

The Aeoruiiaeo populate the third planet of System 184, 148. Their tech level is Metal Age and their economy is stable. They bargain only a little, so be careful not to try their patience lest you forfeit the trade. The Aeoruiiaeo sell the Field Stunner, but would probably want to be sold some Dreamgrids first. This Specialty Trade Item is highly valued by the Aeoruiiaeo.

HOMEWORLD: 199, 82 p2

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Industrial
POPULATION DENSITY: Sparse
ECONOMY: Stable
TRADING STYLE: Bargain A Little

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: Amphibious creatures with extremely complex caste-oriented culture based on a many-staged lifecycle. Each metamorphic stage has a high degree of specialization.

WILL SELL: Shimmer Cloth
WILL BUY: Hive Plant, Funnel Tree, Wandering Chandelier

The CH-Q-TSS-T reside on the second planet of System 199, 182. Their tech level is industrial and their economy is level. They do not like to bargain a whole lot.

Chichifa

HOMEWORLD: 12, 158 p2

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Stone Age
POPULATION DENSITY: Very Dense
ECONOMY: Depressed
TRADING STYLE: No Trading

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: A race of highly prolific, small, furry creatures with long, upright ears and puffy tails. Extremely aggressive, they will swarm to any heat source and attack. Recommend caution.

Djaboon

"We Djaboon. Trade now."

HOMEWORLD: 161, 53 p1

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Stone Age
POPULATION DENSITY: Sparse
ECONOMY: Stable
TRADING STYLE: No Bartering

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: A race of six-legged, armored behemoths. Extremely unpredictable in all aspects of their behavior except for their great fondness of charm babies.

WILL SELL: Amusoballs, Firegems
WILL BUY: *Charm Babies, Hot Fungus

The Djaboon populate the first planet of System 161, 53. Their economy is level and their tech level is Stone Age. They do not bargain, so whatever price they give you is the one you must take. The Djaboon trade two Specialty Trade Items, buying up Charm Babies as fast as possible and selling Amusoballs for trade with the Dweenle. With a sparse population, you may have to explore the planet surface awhile before finding a trading post.

Beware of a possible G'Nunk patrol orbiting their planet. It is in a small nebula downspin of the cloud, and your shields will not function. The G'Nunk will attack even if you are G'nasch, so be ready to go on the offensive immediately.

HOMEWORLD: 242, 164 p1

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Industrial
POPULATION DENSITY: Moderate
ECONOMY: Depressed
TRADING STYLE: No Bartering

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: Asymmetrical nocturnal creatures of considerable intelligence. For unknown reasons they are extremely reticent to communicate with other races.

WILL SELL: Planetary Teleporter
WILL BUY: *Grow Goo, Crystal Sponge Plant, Psychic Blaster

The Draffa Bastii are an industrial race that inhabit the first planet of System 241, 164. Their economy is depressed, a great place for buying and a lousy place to sell. The Draffa Bastii sell Planetary Teleporters, but will most assuredly not make them available until you sell them Grow Goo.

Dweenle

"Hello. We are dweenle. I suppose you've come to wipe us out. I guess that's better than just ignoring us like everyone else does. Perhaps you would like to do some trading first."

HOMEWORLDS: 54, 195 p1; 12, 205 p3; 91, 211 p5

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Spacefaring
POPULATION DENSITY: Dense
ECONOMY: Depressed
TRADING STYLE: Bargain A Little

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: Small, pallid, biped race. Perhaps the oldest surviving race in this sector. They have no personality or culture to speak of.

54, 195 p1
WILL SELL: Godmasks, Nutripods
WILL BUY: *Amusoballs, Breathing Cactus, Oily Spore Bush

12, 205 p3
WILL SELL: Nutripods
WILL BUY: *Amusoballs, Scaly Blue Hopper, Peacock Tree

91, 211 p5
WILL SELL: Nutripods
WILL BUY: *Amusoballs, Single Leaf, Wheel Snake, Purple Screecher

To say that the Dweenle are an annoyingly suicidally depressed race is a gross understatement. However, they are a valuable spacefaring race if for no other reason than that they sell Godmasks, a highly valued commodity on either of the Tandelou planets. When encountering Dweenle spacecraft, you probably should take a friendly posture, though they will try hard to convince you to be hostile. Dweenle captains may offer to trade crew members with your ship. Though capable, Dweenle crew members complain often. You will find Dweenle inhabiting the upspin and outward side of the Cloud on the first planet of System 54, 195 where the Godmasks are sold, the third planet of System 12, 205, and the fifth planet of System 91, 211. They only bargain a little, and their economy, like everything else related to Dweenle, is depressed.

G'Nunk

"We are G'nunk, children of G'naen Sh'gar, Mother Hunter and Compassionate Killer. In coming here you have proven your survivability and that is no small thing. Welcome."

HOMEWORLD: 159, 30 p2

TECHNOLOGY LEVEL: Spacefaring
POPULATION DENSITY: Moderate
ECONOMY: Stable
TRADING STYLE: No Bartering

CULTURAL ANALYSIS: A coalition of various sentient species. Highly aggressive to all but other G'Nunk. Will trade only with other G'Nunk or G'Nasch.

WILL SELL: Phase Inductors
WILL BUY: Data Crystals, Brass Harpooner
